The FAHS is a founding member of the Regional Cultural Alliance.
Regional Cultural Alliance members acknowledge the depth and breadth of cultural activity in regional Australia. We seek to work collaboratively towards increasing the strength and sustainability of regional, rural and remote communities through ongoing engagement in arts, cultural development, museums, libraries and heritage activities and organisations.
We are committed to supporting the creativity of regional Australians and the empowerment of regional communities to develop and express their identity, diversity and cohesion through cultural activity.

Negotiations are in progress with the Australian Institute for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) to determine appropriate Indigenous representation.

to provide leadership to improve the recognition of the contribution the arts and cultural sectors make to Australian social and economic life
to build a cohesive identity for the cultural sector that encapsulates its diversity, and ensures that the sector is recognised by funding bodies for its contributin to regional Australia
to encourage diverse cultural activity to support the development of sustainable communities in regional Australia
to ensure access to on-going volunteer training and professional development across regional Australia
to develop a supportive environment in regional Australia for those engaged in cultural activities
to create opportunities for remote regional and and rural communities to present their culture to urban Australia and bring into these communities diverse cultural activities from other parts of Australia and overseas.
