Benefits and Support

FAHS is soon to celebrate its 50th anniversary (1977-2027); a remarkable achievement considering that FAHS was created and has been supported for most of that time by hundreds of volunteers and, at different times, part-time staff. Membership fees have enabled FAHS to employ staff; only occasionally has there been government funding. Presently, FAHS does not receive any government funding.

The work of FAHS, its constituents and many history and heritage groups is showcased across this website and in the quarterly newsletter, Historical Society Matters. But FAHS wishes to do more on the national stage to preserve and promote Australia’s history and heritage, including to build your capacity to thrive.

For a short period leading into the 50th Anniversary, FAHS is offering new member benefits at existing rates.

Supporter (individual): $33 per annum from date of renewal.

Associate Member (society or other history/heritage group which has aims in keeping with the work of FAHS): $33 per annum from date of renewal.

FAHS is also a registered charity and able to receive donations.

Apart from supporting the history and heritage work across Australia, FAHS Supporters and Associate Members will receive annual entitlement to the following benefits:

  • the society or group’s name featured in the FAHS website Associate Member section - with logo, website and Facebook links and a brief profile taken from the website or Facebook

  • use of the FAHS badge on the society or group website

  • the quarterly Historical Society Matters emailed directly to a nominated email address and for circulation as widely as desired.
